Luck Had Nothing To Do With It December 3, 2008 It's a pleasure to read Cindy Thomson's Brigid. You won't find leprechauns or Blarney stones, just the real Ireland brought back to life from the mists of time. We meet Brigid as a young girl separated from her mother. Even though she mourns her loss, Brigid manages to feed the poor who beg at her master's door. Under Brigid's hand, the cows produce more milk. When Brigid hangs up a cloak, it is suspended on a sunbeam. The miracles are a product of her deep faith in God through Jesus Christ. Brigid needs that faith to carry her through as she searches for her mother and matches wits with the druid Ardan.
Brigid of Ireland, with its message of hope and charity, is a timely book that will inspire you to do more to help those less fortunate. After all, with God we have all we need and more.

The Light Across the River: A Novel
Druids, Kings and Ireland... December 1, 2008 A story set in the 5th century in a time of druids and kings and a land of slavery and poverty. A preacher named Patrick is revolutionizing the way people are thinking and Brigid is one of the people converted. She believes in the reality of God and through simple faith and obedience miracles are performed but will the druids just allow that to happen? A beautiful tale of ancient times and places... **** (4 stars) for transporting me to another time and place
Loved It!!! June 28, 2008 Cindy did a wonderful job at bringing you right into the story and into the characters lives. It's a well written book enriched with historical details that make you feel like you are right there seeing, smelling and feeling everything she writes about.
I was a little bummed with the ending though. The ending that Cindy gave is very sweet but I'd have liked her to go into more detail with the characters you grew to love or hate thru out the story... tie up the loose ends. Specially with Ardan. But over all I really liked this book and would read it again. 2 thumbs up from me!
I think a sequel is a must... Cindy, are you up for it?:)
Brigid--a beautiful story March 6, 2008 This is not just a journey back in time. Cindy Thomson takes the reader along on Brigid's spiritual journey as well. Lovers of historical novels, Irish lore, and good stories will thoroughly enjoy this read.
