Description FROM THE CREATORS AND PRODUCERS OF THE IRISH PHENOMENON CELTIC WOMAN COMES THE NEXT GENERATION IN IRISH BALLAD MUSIC, THE HIGH KINGS. Finbarr Clancy, Martin Furey, Brian Dunphy and Darren Holden - renowned vocalists and musicians - have come together to form the hottest Irish folk and ballad group to emerge since The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem electrified the worldwide folk revival of the 1960s. The musical producer is the highly acclaimed David Downes, who is the musical genius behind Celtic Woman and formerly the musical director of Riverdance. He brings intricate harmonies and driving rhythms to The High Kings songbook, giving them a freshness and sparkle that is infectious. A rousing TV special was filmed in Dublin and is available on DVD (The High Kings: Live in Dublin).

Celtic November 16, 2008 Being a fan of Irish Music these guys do not dissapoint. Original way of harmony that is very pleasant.
The High Kings October 21, 2008 This DVD is okay. It doesn't have the flash that Celtic Thunder 2 has but has more actual Celtic music. The men of the group play as well as sing.
Genuine Magic October 9, 2008 This DVD shows with visual backdrops the genuine folk music on stage. A collection of remarkably talented musicians who feel the music. The audience/viewer moves into their world. The last cut, "The Parting Glass," becomes, for me, a universal metaphor. Transcendent.

I love this DVD, I am glad it was recommended or I probably never would have seen it.
a mediocre show September 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
the video came in excellent shape, well wrapped, clear and clear picture. the contents were disappointing; the high kings held no candle to the wonderful and joyful 'celtic thunder'. since i enjoy 'celtic thunder' so much, i would be lax to buy another 'celtic' dvd.
