5 out of 5 stars Great bedroom phone   January 8, 2009
I was very impressed with the small size of the unit as it was replacing a much older and larger unit. There is a learning curve in programing the alarms etc. but what new appliance doesn't require that? I like the option of the second alarm. The phone works great and all in all I was very pleased with this purchase.

4 out of 5 stars nice phone/radio   January 8, 2009
Although it has a couple of features that aren't great, overall it is a real bargain. The phone works great and so does the radio. There are 3 things that could be improved, 1. the contrast on the display, 2 the ring tone is not great (pretty obnoxious) 3. the instructions on how to shut off the alarm are very unclear; it's easy once you figure it out but the directions are bad. This product was replacing an older GE model that was just about perfect. Everything worked great for many years. I would still have it if the buttons on the phone didn't start to stick.

4 out of 5 stars Almost Excellent   January 7, 2009
This attractive combination clock radio-telephone has a well-laid-out set of controls -- especially given that there is no longer much competition in this category. It has the ability to set five different radio stations on preset buttons. You can aso select from three different levels of display brightness. The sleek telephone handset is awkward to get out of its cradle, but this is only a minor annoyance. More of an irritation is the frequent difficulty in setting either of the dual alarms. It seems to be a matter of timing in the button presses to accomplish this task. While I have nearly perfected the process, my wife is continually frustrated when trying to disable/enable the alarms.

On a quality note, this purchase was a replacement for the same product purchased in July. The volume on the original seemed to be limited to a quieter level than one would expect. After about four months this problem became total when the radio itself would not play. This might, I hope, have been a single quality issue, because the new one plays at a sufficently loud level and has lasted about a month so far.

Bottom line: Good price; nice design; telephone works fine; poor implementation of alarm setting; and possiby flawed quality process.

5 out of 5 stars I like it...   December 30, 2008
Haven't had this item long but so far, so good. I'd like to respond to a couple complaints I've read. The phone IS a little hard to pick up from the base unit. I think the designers were more concerned about looks than function. Not a big issue though. One other thing I've read "Third, it has an annoying red "new call" button that blinks ALL the time and cannot be turned off - I want to put tape over it.". With little effort I've discovered this light can be turned off\reset but either adjusting the brightness of the display or simply picking up the handset from the base unit. I don't see the "new call" indicator as a problem.
