Perfect for the mobile employee January 6, 2009 Does exactly what you want. Big enough to hold a small mouse, and earphones, and a few other usb cords and/or batteries.
Or you can put a big mouse in there comfortably. After a few uses, the mouse pad opens easily and lays flat on most surfaces.
The pouch is just big enough to put a Mac power cord in there as well, so if you use a laptop sleeve with no means to carrying you power cord, this tiny little pouch/pad is perfect.
My only beef is that it doesn't come in more colors.
Neatly solves the problem of mousing on random surfaces December 27, 2008 Problem solved. You know, that problem where you're working on your laptop in a coffee shop and you realize what you're doing would go a lot faster if you pulled out your mouse but then you have to deal with finding a good surface for the mouse? Yeah, that one. Solved.
I don't know, maybe you don't have that problem. But I sure did. There was always an obstacle: the table is maybe too ridged from years of abuse, or it's too shiny and the mouse doesn't respond well, or it's glass and the mouse doesn't work at all.
So I started carrying around a mousepad. Just a flat one, no big deal. But at least the kind I was carrying around was floppy and would often get in the way when I went to put my laptop back in its case. Plus, there were all those little odds and ends floating around in my bag's pockets: mouse, USB thumb drive, outlet adapter for Mac power cord, remote, etc. There had to be a way to organize all of that.
Anyway, enter this thing. This simple but ingenious solution. Now I can zip my Wireless Mighty Mouse and those few other handy odds and ends together to take my laptop to a coffee shop or to and from home and work.
The mouse pad itself is a great surface. It does have a tendency to curl up a bit after you've been using it as a pouch and you first lay it out to use as, you know, a mouse pad. But it has a grippy ring on the outside surface that helps overcome that curling tendency. The zipper around the perimeter of the mousing surface is a little distracting at first, but you get used to it soon enough.
It's now an essential part of my work pattern: when I break out my laptop, I break out my mouse trap and mouse.

Best laptop accessory ever! October 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a college design student I am frequently carrying my laptop around, but would just throw my mouse and mouse pad into my backpack, and this wasn't really the best idea, as the mouse pad would get folded and the mouse would be slightly damaged. So I was pretty excited when I found the mouse trap but I was skeptical that the surface wouldn't be good for mousing, however I was totally wrong, it is definitely one of the best mouse pads I have used. Also even though the mouse might create dimples and divots on the surface, it quickly regenerates to its smooth original form.
Pretty amazing product.
i love this thing... August 8, 2008 My husband and I each have one of these. We store our laptop mouse in it, and then just toss it in our backpack! These are the coolest things!
