"Stick to your ribs" Irish Brown Bread August 26, 2008 While in Ireland this past July, all of the B&B's we stayed at, served this yummy brown bread. We couldn't get enough of it. Upon returning home, I began a search for Irish brown bread and happened upon this bread, so I purchased a case. It is just like the brown bread we were served in Ireland. Brought a few bags to my sister and her family agreed, it tasted the same. Now my sister has purchased a case for her family. It's just a little bit of Ireland in a bag. Brings back fond memories! Cheers, Nancy B.
Perfect Souvenir June 25, 2008 We just returned from our trip from Ireland. We purchased a case of McCann's Irish Brown Bread mixes before we left. When we got home,we already had souvenirs for friends and family, waiting for us. No heavy baggage, no VAT tax. It's absolutely delicious, inexpensive and much more appreciated than those tacky touristy souvenirs. We got a once a month subscription and baked ourselves the first loaf the morning after we got home. Highly recommended for yourself; but also consider using Amazon for your souvenir shopping, if you're visiting the Emerald Isle!
just add water! May 27, 2008 I have a standing order for this bread mix as I make it once or twice a week. A slice is great toasted with butter and marmalade, or with a schmear of creamcheese, scallion tops and bacon. Best of all it is as simple as preheating the oven, mixing it up with water, spray the pan with oil, and put it in the oven for 45 minutes. It is good by itself and really it is a 'just add water' thing! We love it. Its just like my mother in law makes from scratch back in Ireland.
Love it ! May 22, 2008 This product creates a quick and easy rustic Irish brown bread. There are only a few ingredients, but it is delicious.
Healthy Delicious Authentic Irish Bread May 7, 2008 McCann's Quick Bread, Irish Brown, 1-Pound Bags (Pack of 10) With most of my family still overseas, I am always looking for "Comfort Food" products. I absolutely LOVE Irish brown bread and cannot get enough of it when I am there! This product for Irish brown bread is the simplest I have found. No machinery needed!! I am also thrilled that there is only 1 gram of fat per serving, no trans or sat fats, no cholesterol, and it is low sodium & low carb with the benefits of fiber!!! Plus, I don't have to get my hands messy. Pour into a glass (NOT METAL!!) bowl, add 12 oz COLD water and stir with a wooden spoon. (I also pour the mix and water a little at a time to make sure I get the dry bits moistened) Spray a glass pie plate with butter spray and pour it in, bake at 400 for 40 minutes. I put a warm, damp tea towel over it while it cools, which adds to the moisture of the bread. I like the glass pie plate because it gives it the authentic Irish bakery look. ENJOY!!!! Slainte!!!
